Frances, it is "Dipsacaceae" Cephalaria, from what little info I have is a 
Genus of about 65 species both annuals and perennials native to Europe, 
Africa and Central Asia. Syn. = Scabiosa!  Usually pale yellow.                 
                            Grow in fertile, moist, well-drained soil in sun 
or partial shade.                       Sow seed in containers in cold frame 
in early spring. Divide in early or midspring.                                  
                                               I couldn't find anything about 
the leucantha specifically, sorry. But since leucanthus means with white 
flowers....                                                             Good
