I've been lurking here for awhile and thought I'd add my 2 cents on salt
tolerance. I've found that hemerocallis will not only grow almost
anywhere, but is VERY tolerant of road salt. I used to have a large
clump around my mailbox and it got dumped on every year - always came
back larger than before .
