hey all,
we just xplanted some japanese maples that have been in the ground for at
least 25 years.  the root systems were cut of at about 20" from each side of
the trunks.  the trunks were about 6" in diameter.  we moved them to another
part of the job, where we watered them in every  day.

buds were starting to swell on the one tree, and were already unfurled when
we moved the second.  we're praying our timing was ok on the second one.
btw, they were both reds and both in full sun.

i'll send pix if there's a way for y'all to see them.
