hey all,
rather than an "encore", i'm still waitin for the curtain to go up.
i havent studied them, but to my eye the colors are "muddier" than others,(no
clarity), and also, "different " varieties were too similar to each other
also, in flower color, and no foliar variation at all.. no distinction one
way or another. while the multi seasonal display is a distinct advantage,
i'll shy away from them till the colors become more than what they are.
for multi seasonal display, i'll mix cultivars from kurume to satsuki in
evergreens, and the wide range of colors in the decid. azaleas (natives)from
about now thru the prunifolium in july/august.
actually, with variation in fall leaf color in our older varieties, our
"bloom" time is extended thru winter.
