Moving Japanese Maple -- Sequel

Dear all again,

        we're getting ready to move that Maple (thanks, Marge, for all the tips!)
-- the place we like best for it is, sigh, our kids sandbox -- is it
possible to plant the Maple deep in the middle of the Sandbox, fill it up
with sand and have the kids play in their very own JM box? Or is that an
entirely ludicrous plan?
