Native vs. Exotic

I have a "woodland" garden containing mostly plants native to the
northeast. I am not, however, a purist and grow many exotics. But,
in my woods, I weed out those exotics that change the character of
my woods, e. g. Sweet woodruff.
But what other gardeners choose to plant in their woodland
"garden" is their choice, however much I would look with disdain
on it.
