Re: Freeze protection
It appears that here in Missouri, we have the same front coming down from the
north. Unfortunately I have too many hostas spread out over to wide of an area
to save all of them. :>( I plan to place plastic over a couple of beds, maybe a
sheet or two - and hope for the best.
I have noticed it is mainly my variegated hostas that have emerged. My blue
hostas, and others such as "Great Expectations," are just beginning to poke
through the soil.
On a more encouraging note - several years ago I planted some hostas too early
and a freeze killed them. Everyone said they were goners. In a about two
weeks, they began to peek through the soil again, and came back.
