Parsley, any kind, will attract the black swallowtail. The caterpillar is
black, green and white - easily seen. You can plant parsley in any flower
beds, it is an asset several ways. Take care to leave the caterpillars
alone, visitors tend to remove them.
Rue, (ruta graveolens) will also attract the black swallowtails if no parsley
is available. Parlsey will grow in shade. Rue also.
