I used to know this - but I've forgotten so I'm going to ask the list! I'm
planting a witch hazel and a lacecap hydrangea (a large one) - are they both
acid-loving? Also, I know my rhodies and azaleas are acid-loving but what
about a kalmia?
I have also ordered a paper-bark (white) birch from ForestFarm. Although
they don't grow naturally this far south, I think I can grow one here as an
understory tree - under 200 ft tall maples, oaks, poplars -- which will keep
it cooler. Any advice on how to give it a good start? I know you have to
watch for borers. Is it acid-loving?
TIA!
