Re: [SG] kids

Hi All;

I hope I'm could saying this gently enough not to further upset someone
whose gardens and feelings may have already suffered injury.

I hope you won't rush to act in a way that may make living with your
neighbors and relatives very uncomfortable for you all. I have seen that
when you approach someone with hostility they usually respond in the same
manner. You may even fear leaving your garden after a while for fear of
what 'they' might do while you are gone. Try to work it out with the
parents first. Bring a bill with you when you discuss with them what some
of your prize plants cost and state that you wouldn't want them to have
to replace something that costs so much. Hopefully they'll get the hint.

Regarding fences, I only have a 20x50 garden with a sandbox and climbing
castle for the kids. Only nerf (sponge) ball playing is allowed - or we
go to the playground. Fences would further limit my available growing
space so I won't put any around the flower beds. I know full well I may
lose one or two blooms but I put those in a vase and enjoy them indoors.
If you must add a small fence I've seen in catalogs these single black
wrought iron arches that you sink into the ground overlapping so they
from a nice looking unobtrusive fence. I look up the source if anyone
would like.

Try to remember that gardening should be enjoyable and stress free...and
do everything you can to keep it that way. That may sound easier said
than done, but I do sympathize completely and wish you a speedy
resolution to your problem.
