Hi Peter,

There is some controversy over the matter of allowing 1st year seedlings to
flower and bear pods.  From my own experience,  this has not harmed my
seedlings in any noticeable way, that I can tell.  I'm sure this is quite a
strain on any young plant, and perhaps more growth would take place if the
energy required to set pods were redirected into root/leaf
production....don't know, but it sounds reasonable.  However, I've not lost
a seedling due to allowing it to produce.
