Hello Cindy & Clyde,
I have several dwarf hemlock in my garden. They are quite versatile
growing in quite a few different situations from extra moist to somewhat
dry shade. The ones I have range in size at maturity from a small ball
about 18" in diameter to an upright small tree of about 6 feet. Color
variation in the foliage is good and so is textures in appearance of the
needles.
The white variegated Hemlock you are referring to is probably Gentish
White. Now about 6 foot, cone shaped in outline, open and airy in
appearance, feathery tips on the branches. The tree looks like it was
snowed on in June and July with the new growth coming out in white. you may
also want to try Everet's Golden for a more open spot in the garden. Great
winter color.
