Last year, following a fire in our foothills, the valley around Boise was
swarming with wasps or hornets (the kind that build mud nests that look
like a floral frog). A friend watched them systematically remove worm-like
larvae from a plant next to her front door, and several of us resolved not
to disturb them or try to exterminate them. Nobody in the valley reported
tomato hornworms last year. I had one large one and one tiny one. Hornets
or wasps got the rest to provision their egg cases. Margaret, who
apologizes for the off topic post.
