Dear Clyde,
My 1979 catalog (while I was still in the nursery business) offered 3
variegated Brunneras for $10. I might edd that these were good size
divisions.
The trick in growing them:
1. Good drainage: raised higher than surrounding area with lots of
sand or coarse perlite mixed in with soil.
2. No afternoon sun at full tilt. Morning sun is fine, especially
in the form of dappled shade.
3. Protection of wind. Wind will whip leaf margins and show bruising.
4. DON'T propagate too close to winter, especially when you will
not get much snow cover.
5. Remove flowers before they start to go to seed.
Best, Paul
