Forgot to add a postscript. It is anecdotal.

A very famous plantsman once said at a meeting of the American Hosta Society:
" Sure, Canadian sphagnum peat moss is great. Only one problem--it is almost
impossible to get it wet;and, once you do, it is almost impossible to get it
dry."
Pro-Mix has a wetting agent so you do not have to go the travails and
exhaustion of getting that sphagnum wet!
