Good morning all:
I have a question about a sport I recently noticed on my ventricosa
'Aureomarginata.' The sport is a solid gold at this point (actually
it is a pure solid of the normal color of the mother plant's margins.
They are halfway to their cream/white stage.) I haven't removed the
division from the plant as yet, but am planning on doing so this week-
end.
Preliminary research in Schmid's book reflects three varieties in
the ventricosa gold group --- 'Early Dawn,' 'Fury of Flame' and 'Gold
Flush.' All three arose from ventricosa 'Aureomaculata,' are viri-
descent and produce streaked second flushes.
My questions are: Does anyone know of any solid gold (or cream,
yellow or chartreuse) sports arising from 'Aureomarginata'? If so,
what information do you have on them? Should I separate the division
now or should I wait a while?
Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to help!
