I do it every year. They are hardy in zone 6, but don't know about
farther north. Just put the plant, soil and all,  in the ground after the
flowers fade, leaving the leaves on, and if the bulb is in good condition
(sometimes they aren't) then you should get blooms in June of next year.
Sometimes they repeat for several years if you don't cut them. Usually I
just cut them for a bouquet and then plant another next Easter.
