It always interests me greatly to discover the differences that location
can make in what plants will tolerate and what they won't.
In my climate, hardy Euphorbia do quite well with light shade or only a
couple of hours of sun. In fact, my favorite E. amygdaloides rubra or
purpurea (depending on reference) puts itself in some pretty heavy shade
and seems to like it.
I will agree, however, that Heuchera does a whole lot better with morning
sun or *very* light shade than it does in medium to heavy shade, where it
sort of sits there looking rather miserable. Good soil and morning sun,
tho', and you have really happy plants bursting the seams of their allotted
spaces.
