Can you name this tree?

I'm hoping someone will be able to identify a tree which grows in the
Cayman Islands for a person who has asked me for help.  This is not much to
go on but it is described as:

"Multi-trunked, spreading branches with thorns.  Heart shaped
leaves.  Does well in sand, coastal conditions.  Semi-aired climate."
