Re: Invasives vs vigorous plants

About five years ago, when I was starting my new garden in different
conditions than I had ever gardened in before, I joined the American
Horticultural Society and participated in their seed exchange. I still
have several plants from that exchange, including Hesperis matronalis
and Lysimachia ephemerum.

In fact, I have more of those two than I need, and am still pulling out
volunteers which have self seeded. I dont know if these are ones which
have been mentioned on the list as invasive, (the Lysimachia is listed
as a loosestrife) but I wonder if anyone is checking which seeds are
listed in their exchange? At the time, I had never heard of the plants,
and just thought I would try them. Perhaps most AHS members know about
plants before trying them, but I did not.
