Here, too, things are beginning to change. Seeds lists from societies are
beginning to set guidelines and pay attention to invasive and weed listing. Some
of the seeds that got shipped around in the past were actually on noxious lists
forbidden to certain states. NARGS now pays close attention on what they accept.
Hardy Plant Society is beginning to.... Hesperis remains a popular plant and comes
up ever spring on these lists when people see it in bloom wanting some. Seeds and
plants get passed around among gardeners... it is on the invasive list.
I am on the AHS community list and no, they are no more knowledgeable than any
other group of gardeners. Complete mix of all levels.
