Hollyhocks

This is my third year with hollyhocks. They have self-seeded well and bloom
beautifully. I have only one complaint: they're floppy. I look around the
neighborhood and see other hollyhocks standing tall with no hint of staking.
Mine will just be prostrate on the ground if I don't fence them. What am I
doing wrong?
