Heucheras for the Southern Gardner???

I just ran across this about Heucheras for the South. I wonder why they
shouldn't be mulched?? Cajun

Southern gardeners should avoid the H. sanguinea types, as they are not
tolerant of very high heat and humidity combined. Southerners should not
mulch Heuchera.
