Re: moving lilies
I'd say any time now, as long as you dig them with enough soil, they
shouldn't even know they've been moved. Best time is after a frost,
when they have stopped photsynthesizing(sp) anyway. Just me careful not
to slice them with your spade. If moving singles, not clumps, I usually
dig around with my hands till I find the bulb. If clumps, dig 'em up,
knock off the soil and watch for babies.
Minneapolis - not too long till a hard frost I guess. If you can wait
till then, wait. And don't forget. 2 VIP things. DO not let manure
touch your bulbs and WATER after planting. Even if planting in snow or
rain. (I'm not kidding about this)
