What plants do you are in your Bog Garden? >>

At this point I really don't have a ground "Bog" Garden, although this is
something my husband and I would really like to try with a pond. I do,
however, have some pots that simulate bog conditions...I've actually got a
Thalia, Alocasia's and one lily in these pots and they are all doing very
well. Alocasia's are one of my weaknesses and some require more wet
conditions than others. These are generally hardy here in my part of Texas
but I find that keeping them in pots allows me to have earlier growth in the
spring.....sometimes by as much as 6 weeks. I love the contrasting foliage.
They add so much to my basically all foliage summer shade garden and they are
so dramatic.
The place where I would like to add a pond/bog area is in full sun at the
moment....we have planted young trees that will someday make this area shady.
For now, I'm left with just my dreams and drainless pots.
BTW - I've only found a few places that carry the Ligularies and they are
usually $8+ for a gallon.
