Joe,
Yes, you can root cuttings. I discovered the secret to getting them
to root and that is that they need to be enclosed, like in a plastic
bag. If you just leave them in a pot to root, they will rot for you
instead...learned the hard way. They also need to then be exposed to
regular air slowly once new growth is evident and they have rooted -
not fast rooters. Like open the bag for a day or two and then a bit
more and more until you have it all the way off.
They are lovely plants, IMO...fantastic foliage color. Slow growing,
I find, but should, I think, respond to your heat and pick up speed
after a bit. Pinch it back to encourage bushiness.
