We have two huge old locust trees in our yard. Because of the roots, it
hasn't seemed very feasible to plant anything underneath them. I was
thinking, however, about some small creeping sedum that have shallow roots
and that would spread down from the area around the trunk out into the lawn,
but it's pretty shady underneath once the leaves come on, although there is
more dappled light under a locust than under a maple ... Is it worth a try?
Anybody done this? (It's too hot and humid to even go look at the situation
today, however.)
