I have a couple more questions about bugs and bug damage.
1. What are the tiny white flying bugs that are gathering on my hosta? Are
they harmful? The number congregating on the plants is giving me cause to
consider....
2. I'm seeing a number of plants (e.g., a 2' clethra, a 2 1/2' dogwood
elegantissima) getting upper leaves totally stripped to the skeleton, yet
the bottom leaves are left alone. A eupatorium is getting its topmost
leaves chewed up too, but not the lower ones-in this case, just lots of
holes. The holes are in the middle of the leaves, neither notches nor
scallops on the edges. I'm thinking it's not slugs (don't know that they'd
go all the way to the top before chomping).
Thanks much for your expertise!
