Thanks to Paul and to Cindy for the information on Silphium. Mine has not
bloomed, I have not looked for buds. Planted with eupatorium and other tall
plants it certainly surprised me with the space it appropriated.
Mine is over six feet tall and solid leaf to the ground. If someone would
want a summer hedge, a dozen of these would do the trick. It was given to
me as a yellow daisy with the common name of cup plant.
