Well, that's good to know. :)

Right now I have pretty much nothing in my garden but trees, shrubs, and
grass/weeds. Got some giant ragweed coming into its own in the back, and
the pokeweed is 7 feet high with berries forming. :)

Last year we had major problems with stray dogs and they pretty much
destroyed everything I had planted -- roses, dianthus, some young azaleas
you name it. I've taken time this year to put a few blocks in their way, do
some hardscaping (rocks and such) and general clean up. We're also focusing
on some inside remodeling as well.

On the outside, my big project this year is covering the entire 30'x50'
front yard with mulch, build paths, and lining the concrete walkway with
stone. I have about a third of it done (the walkway separates the yard into
two distinct areas) and I'm getting ready to embark on covering the other
half just as soon as I find some way to get free mulch (around 1000 square
feet left and that's a LOT of mulch). :)

More on-topic, we have a small strip of soil along the walkway that leads to
the back yard. This is under some honeysuckle shrubs and does not get much
sunlight. I'll be forming this area up a bit, ensuring no run-off, then
covering it with mulch as well. We have a Bleeding Heart in the front that
I'll be moving back there, along with the surviving azaleas, and I'm going
to plant a variety of other shade-loving plants in the strip. I'm hoping to
find some good and fragrant ones as well -- this area is just outside the
main bedroom's window so it would be great to go to bed at night smelling
the garden. :)

James
