Tree lupines are coastal plants, native from Southern California to Oregon, and naturalized along the coast as far north as southern British Columbia, Canada, in southern England, and Ireland.
They are evergreen, to 2.5m high, and flower from March to June. The ones we have here growing in places like gravel pits are all pale yellow, but apparently they can also be white or blue.
They are hardy to -15 C (5 F).
