Garden lists are very quiet in August.
Claire,
Good to read your thoughts.

Everyone is different I suppose, I love to be out early in the hot months of
summer to do the gardening. No one else out and nice to see the world wake
up. I don't know why but I love the heat.

School has started so I have little time left in the garden and that is the
way it has to be for me. I find that I have to neglect plants that need to be
cut back or dead headed in the fall. Other than a few cannas, two banana
trees and some coleus that I need to take cuttings from I don't have much to do
out side at this point. I will cut the hostas back to the ground as soon as the
first frost hits them and fluff up the mulch a bit.

I will need to collect all the hosta seed from streaks and the crosses that I
have made, this is a fun job that will have to be done before the time
changes back to daylight savings time, or is it the other way around?

Will try to get through the dull days of Feb by starting my hosta seeds on
the light rack and have a few seedlings to watch come next summer. I do hate
the cold!

The kids will be excited about Halloween, then Christmas, then spring break
will be here and time to start all over again. Time seems to fly when one must
follow the calendar of the children. N.
