I wonder what the blue-eyed grass would look like behind the pale yellow dianthus, Dianthus knappii. I haven't tried this, but I do have both plants self seeding in one sunny, gravelly part of the garden. I suppose they might take light shade, as long as they had good drainage, but full sun would be better. The foliage of the "grass" would hide the somewhat gawky stems of the dianthus. I am wondering if anyone on this list does anything special with Blue-eyed Grass. I have 6 nice clumps that need relocating. Any ideas for placement or suggestions for companion plants will be welcome.
