Bob,
They are both considered good garden plants. In general, I believe that
the False has a slight edge. But the True Solomon's Seal has a variegated
form which is smaller and more elegant (and less vigorous); some gardeners
who wouldn't grow the plain kind prefer the variegated. It would be
interesting to know if the variegated kind is a cultivar or if it exists
in the wild. I suspect it's a cultivar. I grow both the plain and the
variegated True Solomon's Seal and wouldn't hesitate to add False
Solomon's Seal to my woodland garden if the opportunity presented itself.
