Re: [SG] Colors of plants in shade?

Hello Anelle,
It sure is hard to make a judgement call when I am not at your garden to
see what you describe. I also do not grow all the plants you are
describing. I do grow peony in the shade. Both the Tree and the herbaceous.
I am on the north side of a hill, my garden is open to the west (setting
sun) and all my trees that provide shade are trimmed up about 12 to 15 feet
above the ground. High, open moving shade. I do not have problems with
colors fading such as you are describing. In fact, many of the colors last
longer and are a deeper saturation of hue than if in full sun all day.
Two years ago we did not really have a spring with the cloudy weather and
almost no sun and I experienced some of what you are describing, but not to
that extent. Can you give more detailed description of your garden, its
location, the trees, etc. Where do you garden?
