Re: [SG] Variegated Solomon's Seal/ Woodland Anemones

Hello Clyde,
I see where Jaime has already replied to you about my article on Anemones
in the Garden Clippin's newsletter section of my web site.... and you have
read the article. Glad you enjoyed the piece. I need to write part two and
cover some of the other anemones and the Pulsatilla which are in the
family.
I gave a quick run through of some of my bulb catalogs and cannot locate
the St. Brigid you are referring to. Is this a small pip or bulb type
(corm) anemone? Also I am not aware just off hand of a variegated woodland
anemone. That does not mean that there is not..l. just I have not run
across one.
Anemone is a favorite to play with and collect. There is a full page
listed in the catalog and then a listing of Pulsatilla. I also have the new
ones that were potted up during the summer and will appear in next years
catalog that includes some quite rare species in limited numbers. I grew
them from seed and they are now big enough to bloom. Also I have quite a
few starts in the garden that came from a friend in England. Waiting for
them to get big enough to divide and watching to see if they are labeled
correctly. Still collecting and looking. They are one super lovely flower
and so easy to grow. Right now they are dormant and transplanting works
best with them now.
