[SG] Colors of plants in shade?
Since I live in a forest, none of my plants gets full sun. At best, sun
lovers get only a few hours of sun, when I have put them in the sunniest
spots I can find. Would it be typical that the colors would be much
fainter, or even absent because of this?
I have a peony which was supposed to be Raspberry Sherbet, but it came
out white with the tiniest touch of pink. Now I have oriental lilies
Lovely Girl, which are supposed to have yellow and I think red spots;
they are all white.
Yarrow Paprika came out quite red, but not as brilliant as in books.
But it quickly turned to a faint creamy pink. This latter plant has
little sun, but the first two have quite a bit more. The peony seemed
so white that I was advised it probably was mislabelled. But now my
other plants lack color also. Do others have this happen in their
shadegardens?
