I grow a number od the sedges. I find them delightful plants for the shade
garden. I grow about 12-15 species and varieties. (The reason I am not sure of
the number is that I have misplaced some labels.) For z5, I recommend C.
hachijoensis 'Evergold'; C. muskingumensis; C. nigra; various varieties of the
common C. morrowii; and C. siderosticha 'Variegata'---to name those I recall
of-hand. The C. eburnea I also grow but it doesn't seem to be doing well in
present location. (Too much shade?)
I have an image of the siderosticha on file if anyone would like to see it. It
is great as an edger.
Bobbie, I think you would also like the luzulas if you like the sedges.
There are a number of good sources for these nice ones for shady places.
