Re: [SG] shadegardens Digest - 13 Aug 1998 to 14 Aug 1998 - Special issue (#1998-240)

Welcome, Zhiyi. I would like to know the addresses or home pages of any
Chinese nurseries licensed to export to the US or Germany, especially those
selling Hosta minor, Hosta cathayana, and any dealing with unusual or rare
shade plants. Also, what are China's importation rules - that is, do they
require a period of quarantine, licensure, etc.?

For anyone taken with the marginally variegated Brunnera but in shock over
the price, Gurney's is selling them for about $5.00 each, depending on how
many are ordered.

Lastly, I have a hosta (strange history; I'm not sure it is a species or a
known cultivar) with white anthers. It probably is night-blooming, as the
flowers always look old during daylight. Is the color of the anthers an
unusual characteristic, and why would it be white?
