I am in zone 8 so I probably wouldn't be one you would need to hear from,
but I do love them in my garden. I am tempted to get Nandina domestica
'Firepower'. It is low growing and has fiery red leaves in spring.
Heronswood carries it and say it is hardy to zone 5.
