Re: wood petunia
Hello Bobbi,
My name is not Nancy, but you did mention purchasing the plant from me.
Wild Petunia will grow just about anywhere, but does have a spot where it
performs best. The one where you have it planted. Plenty of light, but a bit
of relief from the sun for best bloom color. It does have one hey of a root
system after getting established. That is the reason it is holding up to the
drought so well for you.
Ruellia can take shearing well and keep right on performing. In fact, I
recommend pinching it back first part of the year to make a more compact,
fuller bush with more blooms. If you are concerned about it spreading,
simply pinch the seed pods out before they mature. This will also promote
more blooms. Don't want to do the pinching thing?... just whack it back. It
will come right back out of cutting and rebloom.
