To my knowledge it doesn't have a common name. As far as an inexpensive
source, I got mine from Forest Farm and they were cheap, but you know how bad
their shipping prices are, so.....
It is truly evergreen or the bronze/green that many conifers turn to during
winter. I grow it as a companion plant interspersed with variegated Kerri
japonica, daylilies, flowering shrubs. It is very well behaved and tends to
grow in waves (if that makes any sense). I really love it.
