hey all,
my family, (begrudgingly, but not forced) and i went to the local decent
nursery chain the day after Christmas to look at "bargains."
while my wife found a pineapple ornament for our kitchen fruit and veggie
ornament Christmas tree, i looked at plants (wow, big suprise here, like the
'home alone' kid's hands on the sides of his face expression.)
remembering (vagely) our discourse on pieris japonica, i looked at their
winter offerings.
the following plants were available in 1, 2, and 3 gallon sizes.
valley rose rose-pink flowers
dorothy wycoff pink, changing to white flowers, bronze foliage
purity white fl., a tall grower to 8-12' (ooooh)
forest flame red new growth
mountain fire whwite flowers against red new growth
red head red new growth
valley valentine deep red (flowers???)
valley fire white fl
taiwanensis (no descript)
white water white fl
prelude white flowers, very dwf (looked incredible, with dark rose
colored buds)
scarlett ohara white fl (red fol??)
flaming silver var foliage, white flowers
'variegated' the same, but not as vibrant in leaf color or turgidity
these were all under huge heated clearhouses
next time, nandina !!!!
