Paul,

It never occurred to me to fence out woodchucks.
this sounds like a very useful idea.  I kept the lowest wire cold because
the
cats were very disturbed by it.  We use four wires with one higher than the
four foot height.  We have NO deer damage now.  If you have an open area,
two
rows of fencing electric or cold, about six feet apart stop deer.  Deer
don't
jump the wooded or shrubbed areas but where they can get a running start
they
will jump.  The two fence system is useful.

We are ten years plus on our farm and have been fiddling with fencing the
entire time.  We have resident deer, deer breed in the fields behind my
house.  If there were no fence, I would have no garden.

There is is the other way to handle woodchucks..................
