Narda - I have not seen Joe Pye advertised for the shade but I bought 6
plants that I planted along my fence it quite a lot of shade and they
have prospered over the last 3 years. They have become about 20 in
number and almost make a 6-7 foot hedge. Or they would if I didn't
prune them at different times (early in the season) in order to extend
their bloom time.
Good luck, they are a wonderful color and seem pest-free.
