think many have found that shade gardening is quite different that sun
gardening. In the shade, you concentrate much less on the flower, but
instead
work to a much greater extent in weaving a tapestry of foliage color and
texture. I find a serenity in shade gardening which for me has never existed
with the sun plants. How do the rest of you feel about this?

I heartily agree, esp. the 'serenity' part. It's much more relaxing for me to
walk (and work) in a shade garden than a sun garden...cooler, dappled light,
trees high overhead, birds flitting about...ahhhhhh, I can't wait for spring!
