I could not agree more. With "sun plants" one waits for the blooms to appear;
then one must deadhead them;remove spent blooms; and then look at somewhat
unattractive foliage. Ferns are "forever." Sure, you get blooms from
ligularias, for example, but the foliage is marvelous throughout the
season.Ditto, pulmonarias.
