Re: [SG] favorite ground cover?

Two plants I like are Vinca minor 'Ralph Shugert' - "Periwinkle" or "Trailing
Myrtle" or "Lesser Periwinkle" (VING-ka - MINE-or) APOCYNACEAE.
Plants evergreen and floriferous with large deep sky blue flowers, blooming
in May and then on and off through the early summer into fall.
Leaves are dark green, semi-glossy, edged in white. long spreading
trailing stems have opposite paired leaves at the each node. A great
variegated selection of Vinca. Nice and showy making a great addition to
the garden, looking good and making a distinctive presence in the
garden all season long. Plants grow 2-6 inches tall and form a dense showy
carpet. Plants root as their stems spread out, rooting at the nodes.
Use on banks and slopes, mix in with Hosta or under shrubs and trees.
Great for trailing off a rock wall. Will grow in full sun to full shade.
                                  Zones 4-9.
And any of the spreading forms of Tiarella. 'Tiarella 'Eco Splotched Velvet'
- shade. Velvet texture with red centered leaves. 10-12"' is great as a ground
cover.
