We also are getting our first snow, here in East Tennessee this Christmas
Eve morning. Not too unusual for you Yankees, but down here our chances for
a White Christmas are about nil. We will probably get only a dusting,
although the Cumberland Plateau is due for 2-4" (You on this list too,
Michael?). It's quite lovely, made more so by the fact that I have nowhere
to go today. And gazing balls are absolutely wonderous with a coating of
snow. I've filled the birdfeeders (yes, the juncoes are back) put out corn
for the squirrels, and later will go out and spread some ground leaves
around the creeping rosemary and salvias in preparation for the 18 degrees
we are supposed to get tonight.
Best wishes for all of you, including a wish for the safety of those who
have to travel today and tomorrow. In January I will be complaining about
driving in snow and ice in the mountains here, but for now...sigh....
