Re: Surefire way to grow clematis vine


I wonder if Cajun Joe is too far south to grow clematis successfully. I
know that they like a cool summer, something that neither he nor I
experience very often. I have personally failed with a number of clematis.
Some people in my region grow 'Jackmanii' successfully, and I myself have
a 'Nelly Moser' that has struggled along for years, but most of the
gorgeous clematis don't do well in southern Indiana. The only one that we
do have luck with is the almost wild one that used to be called Clematis
paniculata--Sweet autumn clematis.
